BLACK FRIDAY MADNESS MAKEUP TIPS (Stay chic in shopping wars!)

Black Friday in less than 24 hours!!!!  Are you still working on your shopping lists?

Now here’s the question:  How to stay chic and confident in the shopping warzone?

Eyes over here, hands digging over there… crowded, sweat, eyes blinking at all the sales and a friend sees you and say “HI”!!
Now you must be thinking, is my makeup still in place?
Or, you may even be saying to yourself “Damn! How could I bump into someone when I have no makeup on!

So here are my quick and simple tips to stay chic even in a Black Friday madness(es?)

1.    Easy on the foundation.  It’s not a date or a girl’s nite out – we all know it’s Black Friday crazy madness.  Stay with a tinted moisturizer or a mineral powder foundation for a flawless yet light weight look.
My pick?  Motives mineral pressed powder inIvory (US Link

2.    Easy on the eye shadow.  I would personally not have any eye shadow on on a day like this BUT if need be, stay with matte and neutral colours.

3.    A winged eye line.  A winged eye line gives us that lifted, chic and sexy look even without eye shadow.

4.    A neutral and soft blush.
My tip?  Pick a shade that matches your lip colour!  This is the most natural shade of blush for you!

5.    Lip stick!  Stay away from lip gloss so your hair won’t be sticking onto your lips while you’re busy shopping! *wink*
My pick?  Motives mineral lipstick inProdigy. (US Link) This colour compliments ANY skin tone!

Last but not least, never ever forget to go out with setting your makeup with a makeup setting spray!
My pick would be Motives 10 Years Younger (US Link) freezing makeup up to 10 hours!

Happy shopping everyone!
Buy more and stay SEXY!

Thank you!!!!!

7 Must Have Brushes

There are several different ways to apply makeup, but by using brushes you ensure that you aren’t transferring the bacteria from your fingers on to your face. To make sure you have an even flawless look while applying makeup there are certain brushes every girl should have. Here are the 7 essential brushes everyone needs to have on hand.
make up brushes

The Foundation to It All
Even if you don’t wear foundation or liquid foundation on a daily bases, this brush is a necessity. You can do so many things with this brush besides just applying foundation; you can use this brush to apply skincare products or your moisturizer. For those days you do wear liquid or cream foundation you will want to have Motives Foundation Brush (US Link)  to achieve a smooth and even finish.
Blushing Beauty
Blush is one of those products that can be difficult to apply properly without Motives Blush Brush (US Link) or Motives Cheek Contour Brush (US Link) which makes this a must have brush. You can use this brush for cream or powder blush, to blend in bronzer, or to contour your face. You can get a more natural look when you using a brush that you just can’t get when you apply with your fingers.
Conceal It
The concealer brush is one of the must haves no questions asked type of brushes. One of the top reasons every girl should use Motives Concealer Brush (US Link) is to avoid contamination of your skin. Remember our hands and fingers are full of germs and bacteria you don’t want to rub that on a blemish or under your eyes! You can also use this brush to apply your Motives Eye Base (US LINK).
The Eyes Have It
There are several types of eye shadow brushes for different applications; if you’re like me you have a small arsenal of eye shadow brushes on hand. Make up brushes are a great investment especially if you are looking to create different looks with no harsh lines. Motives Eye Blender (US Link) might just be my favorite though.
Eyebrow Brush
Eyebrow brushes are one of makeups must have brushes if you like to use brow powder such as Motives Eyebrow Kit (US Link) instead of a pencil.  It is sometimes easier to fill in and contour your brows with a powder rather than a pencil because you have more control of the amount of product as well as where it is actually ending up. Using Motives Eyebrow Brush (US Link) will give you a more natural look!
Powder Up
Every girl who uses any form of powder loose or pressed needs to have Motives Powder Bush (US Link). Some women choose to even apply foundation with their powder brush in certain areas to have a more stipple effect. Powder helps set your foundation so it last all day and blends in for a more natural look!
Line It Up
If you are like me and like to experiment with different types of eyeliner, Motives Angled Eyeliner Brush (US Link) is one you need to have in your makeup bag. If you are going for a more intense look, gel liners are a great way to line and define your eyes. You can also use this brush to apply cream or powder eyeliner that is a softer effect.
There is nothing worse than having harsh lines or uneven application, so make up brushes are just as important as the makeup themselves!

QUICK & EASY TIPS - HOW TO PREPARE SKIN FOR FALL

A bunch of reviews in a row, let’s do something else this time.

It’s September! Before we know it, Fall will be here (or is it here already?).
At this time of year, it’s easy to have dry and flaky skin.   Our skin may even become more sensitive!

Let’s share some tips on how to prepare our skin for Fall!

1.         Use a hydrating serum so the inner layers of our skin can get the moisture it needs.

2.         Lock in the moisture with a good moisturizer.  We may need a heavier moisturizer!

3.         Use fragrance-free products (skin tends to get sensitive this time of year).  Don’t risk the chance!

4.         Use a toner that can balance our skin’s PH level.

5.         Wash our face with luke-warm water and NEVER with hot water.

6.         Relax with a moisturizing mask 1-2 times a week.

7.         Gently exfoliate to get rid of dull and dead skin (Get pampered with a gentle microdermabrasion

8.         Use a moisturizing lip balm (Yes, we want to have soft lips 365, 24/7)

9.         Don’t put away the SPF!  Although the sun may not shine as bright, but UV rays is one of the biggest factors leading to aging skin.

10.      Last but not least, Drink plenty of water!!!!!

Thank you!!!!!

[Hands on Review] Motives by Loren Ridinger – Luxe Precision Eye Line

Hi girls (and guys)!
First, I would like to thank everyone who read and supported my previous review.  I really needed the support!!
I hope everyone would have forgotten how I look without makeup by now

This time, I’ve decided to do a review on eye liner.
I guess I do not need to emphasize how important an eye line is to girls.
We all know a good eye line works magic to our eyes.

As a typical Chinese, I have the flap of extra skin over my double eye lid… which makes it hard for my eye line to stay put.
To make it even harder, I have oily lids.
I have always had troubles finding the perfect eye liner that will stay put all day.

I have tried NUMEROUS eye liners.
I’ve tried pencil, gel, liquid, felt tip liquid… You name it, I’ve tried it.
Before I learned about this Motives Luxe Precision Eye Line, gel eye liner was my favourite.
Easy to use and control, and generally it stays longer than the others.
I do not really like liquid eye liners just cuz it doesn’t look as natural (just personal preference).

For the gel liners, I’ve tried many brands.
I’ve tried MAC, Clinique and other Japanese brands.
I would say out of all that I’ve tried, I was most satisfied with the MAC gel eye liner.  But it’s still not the one that would make me want to re-purchase.  The product dries out too fast itself!

Till one time, my sister-in-law lend me a Chanel felt tip liquid eye liner.
I really liked it!
It was easy to control.  The eye line did not stay the whole day but it did stay for quite some time.  I was VERY pleased.
*Note – I never purchased the Chanel one as I was struggling if I should pay so much for an eye liner. Haha

TILL ONE DAY at a Motives product session, I learned that the Motives Luxe Precision Eye Liner (the one in SILVER in the picture) has the SAME formula as the Chanel felt tip eye liner.  The only difference between Motives and Chanel was that Motives used even better ingredients!

HOW CAN I NOT GIVE IT A TRY AT THIS PRICE POINT????????

Although the silver tube has now been discontinued… or should I say re-designed?
The black one in the picture is the newest and most current Luxe Precision Eye Line.
It is bigger in size, and with an improved formula and ingredients!

I APOLOGIZE for such a long intro, but I really do love this product a lot! Hahaa

SO, WHAT IS IT?

A felt tip liquid eye liner!

On the website:

-       Waterproof, long-lasting formula
-       Velvet touch precision tip for accurate application
-       Will not scratch, tug or slip

It even contains Hyaluronic Acid, which is a moisturizing agent that is found in good quality skincare products!

TEXTURE?

It has a felt tip that feels very gentle on the eye/skin.

Very easy to use and control.

I use the colour in Jet Black and the name says it, the black is provides is jet black! lol

THEN, HOW TO USE?

Just open the cap and you’re good to go!

If you’re looking for tips on how to draw an eye line, feel free to message me!
I’m more than happy to share my experience with all of you!
I just don’t want to type too much in a review J

RESULTS?

A well-defined eye line that lasts WHOLE day.

It stays on the whole day with no problem~

Some testings I did was to wear this eye line while exercising.
I’ve tried it several times to make sure I’m not just “lucky”. Haha

What kind of exercise?
30 minutes of cardio that includes martial arts, kick-boxing, dancing, aerobics/figure-robics etc.
I sweat CRAZY from it.
Results?  Pretty consistent.  The eye liner did not smudge/chip at all.  Not a single tiny bit!

THE PROS?
- The black it provides is a truly dark black.
- Easy to use and control.
- The felt tip feels very gentle on the eye.
- Most importantly, the eye line stay put the whole day.  Even during and after sweaty exercises!!!!

THE CONS?
- With the OLD version, the product does not last.  After about a month, the product is basically all gone.
- With this NEW version, I cannot say how long the product can last as I have not had this product for too long.  I’ve definitely used it for over a month, it definitely lasts longer than the old version…. But I haven’t used it enough to say how long the product can last.

SUMMING IT ALL UP!

I think this Luxe Precision Eye Line is even better than the Chanel one.
The felt tip feels luxious, it is very easy to use and it satisfies my biggest concern, an eye line that can last the whole day without smudging.
I would recommend this product to everyone, even people in more humid weather.

Thank you!!!!!
Any questions or comments, let me know!!!!!
Also let me know what you wanna see next in my reviews!!!!!

PROPER TECHNIQUE FOR APPLYING EYE SHADOW

With a lot of buzz surrounding the new launches from Motives by Loren Ridinger and Motives for La La, it is easy to easy to get excited about the product and to forget the proper technique for using it.
When it comes to using the new Motives by Loren Ridinger or Motives Fall/Winter 2012 Runway Collection (US Link) palettes, you will need the proper tools to apply. Grab a clean Motives Eye Blender Brush (US Link) and Motives Primer Brush.
Using the Motives Primer Brush from the Motives 15 Piece Professional Brush Set (US Link), apply a thin layer of Motives Eye Base (US Link) from the lashline to the brow. Press the Motives Eye Blender Brush flatly in the eye shadow color you want to use and tap any excess shadow from the brush.
To deposit more color to the eye, press the brush with eye shadow flatly to the lid. If you find that too much color has been deposited or is uneven, sweep the color away with the Motives Eye Blender Brush that is free from shadow.
It is important to remember that even if a color looks intense in the compact, you can apply the color in a sweeping motion, rather than a pressing motion, to deposit less color so it appears less intense on your eyelid.
The best eye looks are smooth and well-blended and with the right tools from Motives, getting a great look is easy!

Tell us, what are your tips for the perfect Motives look?
