Makeup to go with Emerald Green for Christmas 2012 (perfect alternative to the little black dress)

Pantone, colour authority, has announced Emerald Green as the colour of year 2013!

I’m sure all the fashionistas out there just can’t wait to wear emerald, the colour of 2013!!

December is a month filled with celebrations, parties, gatherings etc… Let’s say bye-bye to the Little Black Dress and go with the trend, EMERALD!!!!!

Here are my tips for make-up when wearing emerald!   

#1 – The RED lip – Yes you are right!  Red lip goes perfectly well with emerald green.  Red lip is attractive and sexy!  When wearing emerald, stay away from red lip-gloss/lip-shine.  Just a simple red lipstick does the trick.

#2 – If you’re not daring enough to go for the bold RED lip, try a more subtle red lip look by applying a red lipstick with your finger instead!  This will help achieve a more “stain” look.

#3 – The CAT eye – Emerald is a very elegant colour.  Add an extra touch of sexy and elegance with the cat eye/winged eyeliner!

#4 – Skip the eye shadows (you got enough colours on you now).  If you need to use eye shadows, stay with matte and neutral colour!

#5 – Skip the blush and apply a matte bronzer right below your cheekbone!

Matching make-up with emerald is easier than you may think!

BLACK FRIDAY MADNESS MAKEUP TIPS (Stay chic in shopping wars!)

Black Friday in less than 24 hours!!!!  Are you still working on your shopping lists?

Now here’s the question:  How to stay chic and confident in the shopping warzone?

Eyes over here, hands digging over there… crowded, sweat, eyes blinking at all the sales and a friend sees you and say “HI”!!

Now you must be thinking, is my makeup still in place?

Or, you may even be saying to yourself “Damn! How could I bump into someone when I have no makeup on!

So here are my quick and simple tips to stay chic even in a Black Friday madness(es?)

1.    Easy on the foundation.  It’s not a date or a girl’s nite out – we all know it’s Black Friday crazy madness.  Stay with a tinted moisturizer or a mineral powder foundation for a flawless yet light weight look.

             My pick?  Motives mineral pressed powder inIvory (US Link) 

2.    Easy on the eye shadow.  I would personally not have any eye shadow on on a day like this BUT if need be, stay with matte and neutral colours.

3.    A winged eye line.  A winged eye line gives us that lifted, chic and sexy look even without eye shadow.

4.    A neutral and soft blush.

My tip?  Pick a shade that matches your lip colour!  This is the most natural shade of blush for you!

There are several different ways to apply makeup, but by using brushes you ensure that you aren’t transferring the bacteria from your fingers on to your face. To make sure you have an even flawless look while applying makeup there are certain brushes every girl should have. Here are the 7 essential brushes everyone needs to have on hand.

The Foundation to It All

Even if you don’t wear foundation or liquid foundation on a daily bases, this brush is a necessity. You can do so many things with this brush besides just applying foundation; you can use this brush to apply skincare products or your moisturizer. Blushing Beauty

QUICK & EASY TIPS - HOW TO PREPARE SKIN FOR FALL

A bunch of reviews in a row, let’s do something else this time.

It’s September! Before we know it, Fall will be here (or is it here already?).

At this time of year, it’s easy to have dry and flaky skin.   Our skin may even become more sensitive!

Let’s share some tips on how to prepare our skin for Fall!

1.         Use a hydrating serum so the inner layers of our skin can get the moisture it needs.

2.         Lock in the moisture with a good moisturizer.  We may need a heavier moisturizer!  

3.         Use fragrance-free products (skin tends to get sensitive this time of year).  Don’t risk the chance!

4.         Use a toner that can balance our skin’s PH level.

5.         Wash our face with luke-warm water and NEVER with hot water.

6.         Relax with a moisturizing mask 1-2 times a week.

7.         Gently exfoliate to get rid of dull and dead skin (Get pampered with a gentle microdermabrasion 

8.         Use a moisturizing lip balm (Yes, we want to have soft lips 365, 24/7)

9.         Don’t put away the SPF!  Although the sun may not shine as bright, but UV rays is one of the biggest factors leading to aging skin.

10.      Last but not least, Drink plenty of water!!!!!
